Bank charges reclaimed - but can I reclaim more?

Just a quick one..

I successfully reclaimed back some bank charges about 18 months ago. However, stupid me, I managed to fall into financial difficulties recently and have been charged again. I was wondering - is it possible to also reclaim these recent charges, or not? (seeing as I've already successfully reclaimed once before..)
(My bank is HSBC, if that helps....)
Any help is much appreciated!

  • yes your previous claim was for a set period, so a new claim would be for a new period,

however you might as well wait fo the test case to be comple as there would be no benefit in starting your claim now

    Hiya,

I claimed bank charges from the Bank of Scotland and I was told that I couldn't reclaim the same account again.. is this not the same for all banks? If not could I maybe have a chance of reclaiming again now.. my claim was in 2007 for £600.. I probably have the same again now to reclaim if I was able to.... I am hopeless with money......:(

Sorry, I know I'm not answering your own question.. just good to know you're not alone sometimes..thanks.. xx

Who told you that? As long as they keep charging you keep claiming, although it is unlikely you will get a payout until after the test case unless you are claiming on hardship grounds.

I've also made a successful claim but the bank offered, and I accepted, less than 100% of the total claim. Will I be able to claim the difference between the amount already paid out and the full claim now?

Depends on why you accepted it - was it in full and final settlement of your claim?
