Echo on landline/home phone with Tiscali

I have a very annoying Echo on my landline roughly every second call esp with international calls for months, has anybody else had this or have any solutions?
I've had Tiscali broadband for years but used to be with Talk Talk for calls & BT for line rental until last August when I took the whole cheaper package with Tiscali, it did happen on occassion before but since switching the phone to Tiscali its nearly every second call.
Know it would be a complete waste of money & time ringing Tiscali to get through to India to query it so won't waste my breath (previous frustrating useless calls re other matters).

Are you sure you're not imagining it? Are you sure you're not imagining it? Are you sure you're not imagining it?

Seriously, try using your phone (DECT, corded?) in the main socket with and without the ADSL microfilter with no other phone items plugged in anywhere. Also try another phone with and without the microfilter. Can callers hear a problem?
If the problem is still there then it's worth calling your supplier. Or try emailing them the fault info. If you don't test everything first and Tiscali pay OpenReach (although they can check for a line fault without charging) to visit you may have a big bill to pay if it's down to your phone connection or setup.0
