Any Warnings when DD isnt covering usage??
Im with southern electric and they have just written to me telling me they are increasing my dd from 45 pounds a month to 91 pounds a month as I owe them 345 pounds. My question is that i thought that if the company can see your payents are not meeting your usage they are supposed to call or write to you so action can be taken and not wait until a massive debts builds up?? any ideas??
also my electricity bill states that its based on a actual meter reading but they show 6585 as the figure there using and my meter shows 6063 so how can it be right?? and is that enough of a difference between the two readings to effect my bill amount that much??
any help, cheers andrew

And your second question, the meter will have been read at around about 30/01/09 - 02/02/09 if you recieved the bill today so you will have used some energy since the meter was read.0 -
OP states current reading is less than that shown on the bill so.......And your second question, the meter will have been read at around about 30/01/09 - 02/02/09 if you recieved the bill today so you will have used some energy since the meter was read.
Ring them up, give them the correct reading and you should receive an amended bill.0 -
With DDs most suppliers only review once or possibly twice per year and it is set based on the previous years consumption. Therefore any changes in your useage pattern, weather extremes etc can cause the current years consumption to be higher which will then result in you underpaying. Not perfect but better that having 2 large and 2 small bills per year compared to even payments every month.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
