Alternatives to BT

Good afternoon, Please could anybody advise if there is a complete alternative to BT? I had to use them recently and like my previous experience with them the customer service has been absolutely appauling. I only require a landline for broadband. In the past I have used Virgin and personally I had a very good exeperience…

Reliability appears to be the main criteria for you. I'd recommend sticking to the BT landline (I'd agree to the/ 12 month 'renewable' contract so as to get the Evening & Weekend Plan - free 01/02/03/0845/0870 calls of up to 60 minutes each - for no monthly fee) and then selecting whichever ISP you think will meet your needs.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
