New mattress is snagged

I got our new mattress delivered today and its got a skag on the side. Littlewoods said thy can either exchange it or give 10% discount.
Im thinking of having the 10% as its a lot of hassle having two whole days givup waiting for the collection and replacement and the hassle of not having a mattress to sleep in inbetween.
Does anyone know / think the snag will get worse and maybe turn into a hole over time? It on the side not the part we will lie on
