Stop marketing calls

I've used the TPS and it's cut cold calling to nearly nothing. The only exception is being phoned by a recording of someone saying I've won a holiday, just press 9 to continue... and I fancy this'll somehow redirect my to a premium number.
Naturally these calls always have withheld numbers :-(0 -

I get no calls at all other than those people I give my number to :-)
This is pure luck on your part.
I re-iterate that 'random digit dialing' is just that - random. This means that there is as good a chance that your number will be generated as anyone elses, despite being registered with TPS, FPS etc.
One other point is that most 'market research' calls are carried out during office hours. The dialing systems also disconnect when an aswerphone comes on (hence blank messages that you get sometimes), so if you are rarely at home in the daytime, you may not ever (or at least rarely) receive such calls. I did, however, do some evening stints in the call centre, so you may not be able to escape altogether.0 -
If anyone calls me I say "Please take my number off your records please". They usually get annoyed but never phone back. Jambo your approach sounds a lot more fun.Think of happiness as a kind of mental gardening.0

I use tps aswell worked well for me,
I only get one rarely now,
they way I deal with these are
1, ask if the call is being recorded if it is say you dont want it to, the sales person cant turn it off, normally because it leave them to hassle and abuse so they put phone down.
2, while they are selling you something every so often ask them if they want to buy something you have like an old tv or bike, eventually they get annoyed when they do apologise for interupting them and ask for there home number and you will ring back at a time when there not working, they normally say I dont want you ringing me at home, then you just say "snap" put phone down and smile to yourself,
ps. I still have the tv and old bike for sale, :-)0 -

I wish that would work for me! I always say that though just this week have had Mango book club call 3 times after the initial conversation and one of those came just half an hour afterwards!?!
I must sound undecided or something...
I will definitely register with TPS anyway. Hopefully that will cut it down.I've been lucky, I'll be lucky again. ~ Bette Davis0 -
