Got a call from my solicitor this morning to say we've exchanged for completion on friday.
I haven't posed all that much on here but have learned loads from reading other peoples questions and answers. So a big thanks to everyone who contributes to this site.
In case anyone is interested we had our offer accepted on 11th November, so its taken roughly 14 weeks (or call it 13 if you ignore one week over Christmas). We are currently renting and the people we are buying from are moving to a house that is currently empty. Not too sure if 13 weeks is fast or slow for this type of sale.
Thanks

Well Done! all the best for you and your new home.
I should be exchanging today [havent heard as yet], if not, tomorrow and have been waiting for this day since October 19th!
My record was 3 weeks from date of offer to completion [moving in] day - my buyer, me [no mortgages to arrange] and an empty house for me to go to.0 -
How exciting, congrats! 14 weeks sounds about right to me, despite what everyone else says. Enjoy your new home. :cheers0
