Old bristol and west savings account

I have just found a old savings pass book with the last balance entry in it dated 1985!!
only had 1 pound in it when i last used it. i understand it has been taken over a couple of times since then by bank of Ireland then Britannia. i rang Britannia and they said it did get transfered over but the account is "non transaction" as its not been used for so long and i have to go in a branch to activate it again. my question is would i have be eligible for a windfall from BOI and or any bonus payouts from Britannia ??? can anyone help please
