Useful Tips For Renting

Hi All,

I did a lot of research on this website before renting a property so I thought I would share my "bargain bashing" with you all!

The Rent - The agency I went through had a number of property's of similar size. I was looking for a 2 bed flat. I asked to view a number of property's (all ranging from £550 to £450 a month). After viewing I informed the agency to contact each landlord and say that we would sign up for 12 months if they would give us the first month free. They said no but all of them came back with a discount, and we took one for £425 a month.

The Deposit - This was with the agency and they said it was 6 weeks worth of rent. We said that if we did it all as fast as possible would we get a discount. They did it for 4 weeks worth of rent.

The Agency Fee's - These were £100 each plus VAT. Again we asked if we could have special rate if we were speedy, and this was reduced to £75 each.

The thing to remember is that they can only say "NO"!
