I voted c. Once a month, but it looks like most people who have currently voted have never changed their passwords.

I would rather be safe than sorry!
  • I have enough problems now, trying to remember all the various passwords. To change them would only bring on more problems. Unless someone out there knows a fool proof method.

I have over 50 passwords and security numbers by the time I count the six bank accounts (eg one for child benefit, one e-isa, one savings, one current for me, one joint current for husbands pay, childs bank account), pin numbers for my credit cards, access codes for my home computer, work computer, blackberry, mobile phone and work phone, logins for my sainsburys, tesco, and 10 other stores where I regularly shop on line, ebay sign in, pay pal sign in etc etc. As they all use different combinations (eg some need six characters, some need characters and symbols, some need eight characters, some need four or five numbers) it is absolutely impossible to keep track of the ones I have let alone change them.

I'm the same - I have so many it would make things worse to change them all the time.

I change them if there is any question on security though, hoax emails going about and the like...

Providing it isn't a sensitive pasword (e.g. Bank account pin number/password, paypal/ebay password) I simply enter it into my Password Safe database (Password Safe can be downloaded here: http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/)

For ebay passwords and paypal/banking passwords/codes I don't put them in here because I don't fully trust it 100%, but because I like to use different variations of passwords for different passwords I would never be able to keep track of them all without that nifty little tool!

    Similar here!
  • My passwords are combination ones eg cats name + first car number. By using five different things in various combinations you can get rather more than the 50 quoted. The combinations I keep buried somwhere in my computer but nowhere do I enter what the cats name is ( I dont have a cat). Thanks to Google search I can find the file because all I have to do is remember one name (filename) and Google finds it for me.
