Gift of shares to wife

Hi,
I currently hold a number of shares from a sharesave programme I was involved in at work. I believe that I am able to gift these to my wife to enable us to both use our capital gains entilement for the year. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Yes, if you have a share cert just complete the section on the back assigning a nimber to the recipient. If its held in an electronic dealing account then its even simpler just contact them and ask then to transfer a number across.

For tax purposes your original purchase details will be used for your wife's tranch.
