Car Insurance Renewal

Hi everyone, does anyone know if you can change insurance companies at renewal when there is an outstanding claim (not my fault). My car has been repaired and I have paid the excess to the garage, which I expect to get back. There is now a claim outstanding for injury to my son's neck.

You can change without affecting your existing ongoing claim(s).

You may find that your existing insurer is willing to count this as a no fault claim even if it is not fully recovered, because they have all the details and sometimes they give you the benefit of the doubt.
Another insurer may not be willing to count this as a no fault claim until it is fully recovered and settled, hence you may be at a disadvantage.
