Unsolicited Call from energy saving trust. Legit ?

Yesterday I got a call from the energy saving trust, Obviously an indian call centre (I could hear background sounds, and the guy on my call had a very heavy accent).

I was quized about current energy supplier, which tariff (which I can't remember off top of my head), etc etc, then advised to switch. Then they want my address and other details, at which point I bottled out, and ended the call.

Is this legit, if so, who makes money, how is this financed. And in our current economic climate, how come it's an indian call centre.
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)

Its a selling scam, as the Energy Saving Trust would not advise regarding switches as its a publicly funded organisation regarding renewable energy, using less energy not switching suppliers to save money.

    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
  • The energy saving trust wouldn't be an advocate of switching as this just cheapens energy encouraging a more prolific use.
