  • Mmm. Memories of Mallorca. Simply fry them (in batter if you really need to disguise them) until nice and crispy, drizzle with lemon juice, serve with bit of green salad, cherry tomatoes, olives or whatever.

PS. Pity you didn't find them before Xmas - at least everyone would've got a leg!

I too have a tin of Lidl's Musky Octopus- has been lurking inmy cupboard for a while, as didn't know what to do with it!

    Googled it, and got:

Well I lived!, On opening the tin, they werent exactly baby octopus tentacles, more like big juicy suckers!

I made seafood risotto, with some fresh mussels and a few small pieces of frozen cod/salmon. A liberal sprinkling of parsley and lemon juice and a hint of chilli.
Washed down with a glass or 3.

The tentacles tasted nice, but the texture was a bit rubbery, not sure if I overcooked or that was the tinning process.
I tried a bit on the kitts and they wolfed down a piece each.

And best of all not a grumble in the tum dept, I am even brave enough to pass wind without fear :rotfl:
  • lmao! just read the whole thread, love it! you are braver than me though op, there was a tentical or two in my paella and i felt ill just looking at it!

  • I initially misread tentacles as well you can imagine what and thought to myself that surely it would take a lot of male octopus bits to fill a tin!

I would give to the cat and consider you have had a lucky escape!

:rotfl: I misread it too :rotfl:

So ive had to read the thread to see what i was missing :o

Waaayyyyyyyyyy too much information! :rotfl: But I'm glad they were OK. I suspect they are naturally quite rubbery, after all squid is.
