Vanishing text in excel 2007

I am amended some templates created in 2003 and am finding that some of the text is becoming invisible. If I highlight the boxes then it re-appears, but can disappear again at will!

Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a fix for it?

Thanks

You've got to save them as Excel 2007 tables first and then you should be able to work on them fine. Let me know if it works.

    Thanks for replying.
If, after I have worked on them, I change them back to 2003 templates, do you think the problem will still occurr?
It's just that I have to send them out for completion to lots of different people, many of whom will still be using 2003
  • I think that when they try to open the 2007 version, a pop up box will appear saying that they will need to install a conversion tool. If they install this, they should be able to read it OK. (Based on personal experience of having a Word 2007 document being sent to my 2003 computer)

There's always a risk of things going wrong if you keep swapping between formats.

After changing them to 2007 templates you could try saving a test one as a 2003 document and send it to just one person to play around with. If that person has problems then chateau's advice about the conversion tool must be followed. You can send the link to the conversion tool from the Microsoft site in your email.
