Which site to advertise property

Hello,
I have some barn conversions that I want to advertise on the webb. Does anyone know of any good sites? There seem to be so many out there that I really dont know where to start. I would be using solicitors etc if I do mange to sell.
Many Thanks in advance,
Alison

Rightmove? You need to get estate for that though. You can get something like housenetwork to get on the rightmove.

  • In my opinion, the most effective property sites are the ones that are accessed only by estate agents, however, there are so many sites available now, you will rarely find an agent that advertises on all of them due to the massive costs involved.

There are private sellers sites that will allow you to post your details on (sometimes for free, sometimes for a small fee) but I cannot say how useful these are as I have never advertised on one. However, I presume hey must have some success as there are quite a few available. The best way to find these sites is buy searching for "private sellers" on google.

If you are just looking to release some equity, have you thought about swapping them for properties lower down the property chain (with the difference being paid). This is becoming a very popular method of selling in todays market place.

  • As someone who has just bought a house, I'd recommend listing with a local agent that also advertises on Righmove.

I actually found it easier to keep checking in on several different sites rather than navigating RM all the time, but I know a lot of people do stick to the big 'umbrella' sites.
  • I was considering selling just using an online EA, but did decide to go with a local EA as they handled the viewings etc. If it's any help I narrowed the online EA down to HouseNetwork as they advertise on the main portals such as Rightmove, Globrix, FindaProperty etc. Full list can be found on their website under 'Where we advertise' link
