Vonage to Sky phone

I am thinking of changing my phone service from Vonage to Sky. Currently my phone
provider is Vonage and the service is availbe via my broadband (Virgin Media).
How do I go about changing to Sky? What do I need to do?
Since Vonage is a VOIP and have no physically seperate line.
When I spoke to the Sky customer support they never heard of Vonage.
They told me all they need is the phone number and they can sort out the rest?
How exactly will they be able to sort the porting of the number to Sky line?
Can anyone please shed some light on this?
