Doing the job I do, I see a lot of people's finances and you would be surprised at appearances....very often its the people who have flash cars and money is no object who are in the most debt...
My in laws are terrible...they have 'no money' - one of my in laws borrowed £100 off us a while ago cos she only had £3 in her purse...I was mightily narked to find out they then went out for a meal....we earn less than them and are actually the 'poor' relations in their eyes but in my eyes I am the best off...
I just feel sometimes that I have some sort of flashing light above my head letting everyone know our situation.
DS asked me today if he can have a birthday party, in front of his mates. God it felt awful to say no, then have to think quickly of excuses why he cant, rather than the truth - no money till payday

God, you have NEVER seen anything like it! I had a scarf wrapped around my face, cowboy style, plunger going billy-oh and shiit EVERYWHERE! Up the walls, floor, me gagging like a gagging thing from Gag Land. My Nan was there at the time (God Rest her Soul!) laughing like a hyena at me! It was HORRIFIC.
