:hello: hello everybody:hello:
I survived the trip to Scotland - despite the best efforts of the stupid sat nav to send me via Manchester AND Newcastle to get to the big Tesco at Carlisle. Mum was panicking about me driving the 250-300 miles but it was great fun all told even if i did get horribly lost in Alloa trying to find the Asda store but thankfully found a REALLY nice chap who gave brilliant directions and voila five minutes later I arrived at Asda to make use of their toilet and buy frozen profiteroles! I was a bit worried about the roads out of Scotland yesterday morning but they were clear and free flowing - though it was touch and go whether we'd make it to the services on the M73 - car juddered the last 200 yards but thankfully they were downhill so I pretty much coasted to the petrol pumps. Wayne was all prepared to have to get out and push the last few yards!
I've been quite industrious today: washed bedding and weekend clothes, painted Evie's bedroom wall with the dampseal paint, painted the floor with woodworm killer (am so silly I thought someone had gone and pushed a map-pin into the wood a hundred times before I realised it was woodworm:o). Ordered the new carpets for the three bedrooms and stairs and put it on the visa so my debt has gone from zero to £1200:p and I've also got the plasterer coming next Monday to remove polystyrene tiles from the stairway and landing ceiling!
Hope everyone's well.

Phone (couldn't live without the internet - it nearly killed me this past week and the weekend just gone)
could live without TV or Radio - couldn't live without CDs or books though!

well, that was an expensive jammed lock/broken key experience.......
£15 in petrol (ok, I needed that)
70p parking
£9 for 2 new keys £9 !!!!!!!
£24 in Aldi. I go to town about once a year and kept meaning to try the new Aldi. Well, I say new, it's over a year old now! Very disappointing, not sure what all the Aldi fuss is about, maybe the store is too small, but it just looked like it had Lidl's leftovers
And the bizarre packing thing - you have to put all your stuff back in the trolley and take it to the 'packing bench'??! !!!!!!?! It would be have been £14 (which was bad enough!) but next tothe till they had some bottles of chocolate liquer with grappa, and Ithought - hmmmmm, the highlight so far!!
I'm now thinking - what a waste of £10 I don't have to spend on such rubbish !!
