username hijacked or ebay error ?

My account has had an expensive item advertised on it listed in Britain and I have had emails querying the low price but I didn't list it and I didn't see the entry on my site. Ebay have suspended my account for 72 hours, though I didn't contact them. Is this a case of someone getting my password and listing on my site (but why would they?) or a technical error?

No it's not a technical error your account has been hijacked. There are a few possibilities, either you have fallen foul of a phishing scam, or you have used an insecure PC in an internet cafe or at work or you have an easily guessable password and someone has hacked you.

As 'your' account has been suspended it looks like ebay caught it before it went too far and they should be able to sort it out for you. As for why would someone do this easy, at the last moment they would ask for payment to be made to them at a different address or a different paypal, take the money and leave you to face the angry buyer who doesn't get his goods.
