Threatens me with nasty divorce

Hi guys,
my soon to be ex husband is threatening me with a nasty divorce.
What sort of things do I need to watch out for? I suddenly received a mail shot from Electricity company, he always paid utilities. Is he able to change bills to my name?
He originaly bought the house, but I have been paying my 50% of the mortgage for 6 out of 8 years. We remortgaged about 1.5 ago and he did transfer of equity of 30% into my name, so we both liable for the mortgage repayments.
I am worried that e might apply for credit cards in my name. I have seen him turn really nasty on people that happened to be on the wrong side of him and nothing will surprise me.
Is there any tips from your expiriencies on how I can protect myself please?
Thank you,

sign up for regular updates from Experian and that will alert you to any unauthorised searches or new accounts opened.
When you say he signed over some equity, is this on the deeds of the house at all?0 -
You can ask for a password to be attached to your credit file to be asked of anyone doing a credit check that way you know if anyone is applying for credit in your name, make sure you use an obscure password if you decide to do this...I am not sure exactly how it's done but I think it's via Experian.0

Does he have access to your bank cards/details, keep your cards safely with you at all times... also keep your online access details safe.. do you have joint bank accounts? If it was me I would alert the mortgage company to your circumstances and make sure they personally check with your if any more remortgaging is requested.... you are doing the right thing to be cautious...maybe you are worrying for nothing , fingers crossed#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Effectively, yes - it's no different to when you move house; if you know the name of the new occupier you can tell the utility company who it is. When I rented, the LA told the utility companies my name before I had a chance!I am worried that e might apply for credit cards in my name. Your right to be on your guard although he should have to provide ID to confirm he is who he claims to be. However, consider the CFAS and/or credit agency alerts.
I would be tempted to cancel all existing cards and get replacements, too.Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac

I've had to use this service when tax credits gave my personal details and bank details to someone else.
When you are out shopping etc you will be asked more security questions, i got lots of funny looks when this happened as it was frequent, i just explained i was a victim, my details had been given to someone else and i had to prove who i was.
I was annoyed that i had to pay for this as tax credits were at fault, but then again 13.80 is a lot better than an empty bank accountLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -

Yes, don't even get me started on this one.:o
Still love him, but could never let him hurt me ever again.
I now know what they mean when they say "from love to hate just 1 step". I've never seen his face to be that scary before. What am I supposed to do? Live in the street? Silly man, he never really cared for me I don't think. I just want roof above my head, is that to much to ask?Debtfee from 20090 -
Thank you everybody for your kind replies. Downloaded the form and am going to send it off today.
Not sure if letting Utilities companies know I am no longer living at that address would be of any help, just to stop him changing the name on the account?Debtfee from 20090
