    Insurance is an annual contract, the fact that companies allow you to pay on a monthly basis is a concession for which some charge extra, if you cancel early you are still liable for the rest of the amount due till the end of the annual contract plus any cancellation fee according to the terms and conditions you agreed to when taking out the policy.

    Incorrect advice. (This only applies if you have made a claim).

    Check your policy for details about how refunds following cancellation mid term are handled.
