Hi There,
My son and his girlfriend are looking to go on holiday to disney world in june, staying at one of the disney hotels, hes looking to fly from a scottish airport, preferably glasgow, prestwick or edinburgh, no car as they are too young to drive over there yet they are 20 and 19, his departure dates are flexible but would prefer to depart first three weeks in june.
I`ve found airtours at £1643.40 for both of them, without car and airport transfers included, flying from glasgow on the 1st june.
Can anyone tell me if this is a good price for them? or has someone found anything cheaper?
Thanks in advance!
J :-)

You need to say the name of the accomodation (disney pop resort etc).0

sorry about that :-) ... the one I have the price for is the pop century one, but any of them would be fine for him.
Thanks

Are they are planning to go for two weeks or just one?
A word of caution. If they are just going for a week then they'll probably cope without a car, as there is enough disney realestate to keep them busy for 7 days, but they might feel a bit "traped" for 14 days IMHO.
They are going to have trouble visiting anything outside disney without a car. Places such as Seaworld, Universal Studios, Florida Mall, Rosey Ogrady's, Cape Kennedy etc. Also they'll have trouble finding good food at reasonable prices if they are limited to disney resturants.
Its a shame they have a minimum 21 age limit for hiring a car.0 -
Have you also tried travel city direct -I believe they fly from glasgow as well. also global airlines were offering cheap flights from glasgow.0

Thanks for reply`s,
magentadreamer - tried Travel city, they were slighty dearer than airtours.
Lorian - They have both been to the disney hotel previous and know their way about, international drive too, planning on going to universal and seaworld for a few days, just going to get a taxi up and taxi back, don`t think there are any other ways of getting from disney to uni...any one else know of an alternative way of transport?
They will miss going out to the golden grill and ponderosa etc... for the buffets, but its there only opition at the age they are at.
I will also feel better knowing they are in the resort rather than on the I-drive themselves... :-)
Thanks!0 -
Try Flyglobespan, Travelcitydirect, Virgin from Glasgow.
With Flyglobespan I got price of £630 flight only for two adults with just a quick look at random dates in June. I think there is regular transport from Sanford.
thedibb.co.uk have a section on Florida without a car.
I believe that Virgin sometimes do a discount of 10 or 15% if you book on Easter day.
Try rbstravelservice for a price.0 -

Thanks for the info will go and look into the sites you mentioned! have tried a few already but will try the others.0 -
Travel City Direct have hotels on International Drive that offer free transport to all attractions - Disney, Universal etc. This will give greater flexibility and should prove a cheaper option. Have used them twice to visit Florida, absolutely no complaints about them.0

they`ve weighed up all the options, this will be 6th time going for him and 3rd time for her going now, they have stayed at I-drive twice, disney once and villa twice.
They are aware that they would probably have easier access to the stuff on the I-drive by staying there, but feel if they stayed in disney and disney is where they will probably spend most of their time, with the water parks and pleasure island, etc, that they would have all the disney transport at hand, planning on only going to uni and seaworld again, other than that they have done everything else, and is not that bother about going again.
Been checking all the sites given above, and the airtours price does seem to always come out on the top, (sale ends tomorrow so will need to act fast)
Thanks for all your help!
