Remote control battery..made to order???

Help!! Please!!!
My son was given a rather posh looking remote controlled car for his brithday. He was thrilled (me less so!)... only we couldn't get it working for more than a few minutes at best despite following the instructions on battery charging. Rang the present donor who confessed he'd won it in a raffle and had no idea where it came from.

There are no obvious brand names or trademarks to follow up on the car. The battery says Dynavolt but the only company of that name I've found is a Chinese one that seesm to make automotive batteries (real ones not models!!). Took it to local model shop who said battery v low but they'd never seen one like it and couldn't replace. Same answer from Maplins and every other place I could think of. Main issue seems to be that it has three wires to the connector (which plugs into similar in car) rather than the more standard two (they tell me).

I've tried internet searches but can't find anything similar. Is there anywhere that is likely to stock a replacement or who would use the connector on the battery to make/modify a compatible replacement???
Any help gratefully recieved. 'Twould make a little boy very happy!

It's sometimes possible to replace the cells inside battery packs.

Can you post up a picture of the battery pack, and details of the car model and manufacturer?

    Lorian,
Fraid posting photo is beyond my technical ken. The car has no makers name or model name. I'll try site suggested by Derrick.
    Thanks
