Are there any plans to release the ipod touch with a higher storage capacity - ideally 32GB or higher?
Im currently wondering whether to buy the latest ipod Classic, which would have enough memory for the 1000 odd albums id want to put on it, or an ipod touch which wouldnt hold everything but has so much else built into it.
Any advice out there? Is there any point holding off on buying, in the hope of a new ipod touch being released?
Thanks in advance for any help

There already is a 32GB ipod touch. I have an 8GB touch and I love it. It depends whether you need the extra features of the touch such as the apps or wifi capabilities, or the extra storage of the classic at a lower price. I find 8GB is enough for me as I don't keep all my albums on it.0

Personally, I would recommend changing to a "Creative Zen"

Or an Archos

Both are far better than iPod.We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
It depends how often you are able to get onto a computer- changing whats on the ipod is fairly quick in the cases I have heard (only have an old style nano so can't actually comment on a touch/classic but can't imagine its that slow!)
If you have a touch, you could just load up what you think you want for the next few days, keep you thinking about what you want to watch/see, but if you know your not the type of person who will go online every night/other night to do this, maybe a classic is better. You know what your more likely to do, its your choice.
Also, are you going to be watching or listening to the majority of stuff? would a bigger screen (ie touch) not be better?
And finaly, how much does the quods matter to you? personally, I would prefer a touch (if I were wealthy enough to have that choice!) as I think they look sleeker.
I have had a creative before, and heard from others who had certain models to that they froze or just suddenly stopped working and turned themselves off for good- very pretty little machines, and otherwise fine, but just make sure you do your 'others personal experience' research on places like Ciao, Dooyoo and Amazon first as there are some models that are more prone then others, the one I had that did this was the Creative Zen 16GB.0 -

My Nano took to freezing and turning itself off towards the end :rotfl:
I have just bought a 120gb Ipod Classic and it's awesome. I bought it because I'm clumsy though and knew I would damage the Touch and beat myself up until the end of time...0 -

Have to agree with Paddy. If you need the bigger screen etc then it would be the Touch...
I have a 80GB Classic as I needed the bigger storage (got my entire CD collection (40GB at present) on there) and it is perfect for my needs. It is also OK for the odd music video or movie as well (it does have TV out as well).

I read on a mac forum somewhere that there are plans to eventually bring out an ipod touch that exceeds the ipod classic, which is when the ipod classic will be phased out altogother. however, this probably will not be until the end of this year...hth!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Except mine was not near "the end" it was 29 days old!
Luckily it was with Amazon so I swapped it with a sony wire-free walkman- perfect for the gym as it literaly has no wires!0 -
We use our Ipod touch alot especially the wi-fi bit. You can watch BBC iplayer, email, games, music, radio, etc, etc. Personally for us the wi-fi part is the most useful. My husband thinks its the best thing he's ever bought and its paid for itself over the year we've had it by how much the whole family use it. If you have wi-fi in the house its very useful.
Do you have an apple store near you that can show you all the capabilites? Staff are fantastically helpful. We have an old classic 1st gen ipod, old shuffle and an older nano but certainly don't use them as much now since we got the touch.0 -

Thanks for that, you've made my day! Ever since they brought out the iPod Touch I've been waiting for a larger capacity model (I have over 10,000 songs, 45GB in total), thank goodness I don't have to wait much longer! xxx0
