Take 2 forms of photo ID with you and go into the bank and apply there and then and sign all the forms in the bank;)
Thats the advice I've got from the phone helpline:rolleyes: I applied for and got accepted with a £15,000 Credit Limit on the 2nd of September last year, I still have no card:rolleyes:
After numerous phone calls got that wonderful advice yesterday:rolleyes: just a weee bit too late for me:o Anyway my application has been flagged as an official complaint now as of yesterday as nice CS lady assures me its the only way they will take notice of it and they have to reply in writing within 5 working days.
It looks a great card indeed, but anyone wanting one, please go to the bank with your ID and complete the transaction in one go and you may have more luck than me;)I am trying, honest;) very trying according to my dear OH:rotfl:0 -
Beware, although this is a brilliant deal (fee-free BT with 'up to' 6 month's interest free credit) there is a pitfall.
Despite what it says on Abbey's website
http://www.abbey.com/csgs/Satellite?appID=abbey.internet.Abbeycom&canal=CABBEYCOM&cid=1210610544537&empr=Abbeycom&leng=en_GB&pagename=Abbeycom%2FPage%2FWC_ACOM_TemplateB2
and on Martin's CC-BT page (see below) the 6 month's interest-free period is not quite what it seems.
At http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cards/balance-transfer-credit-cards
we read:
"Fees-free 0% balance transfers
There are still a couple of cards around offering fees-free balance transfers. If you’re prepared to rapidly switch cards or can clear your debts very quickly, these are the winners.
The Abbey Zero card gives six months 0% with no fee, followed by 18.9% APR. The next best is five months with Northern Bank, only available from its Northern Ireland branches."
BUT - the 6 months' 0% is counted from the date you open the account, not the date you start the BT: so if (as I did) you take out the BT 3 months into the account, you start being charged interest after 3 months. In my view this is not clear in the initial publicity (nor in Martin's summary) so it would appear to be misrepresentation by Abbey.
I'm taking it up with them and will let you know how it goes. Meantime - buyer beware!

I have just been refused this card after the credit search on the phone. Reasons ... I am unsure. I received my credit score report 2 weeks ago which was all clear (no late payments or missed payments and high top end score) with result : "Highly likely you will be offered credit".
However I have only just moved to First Direct bank in the last 6 months. That might be it.
Ah well. Just trying to make the most of the the no fee 0% BT's, like I did in the good old days of no fee transfers.
Blimey that was a while ago ! and look where we are now !! :think:0
