Making our offer

  • Aye, it's hard but try to hold off on the love at least until you've got your offer accepted, the survey has been done and the contracts have been exchanged. If not that long then at least until you have you mortgage offer.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

Well, they took our offer of £117k!
Apparently the EA was really angry on the phone
Anyway, off to apply for the mortgage on Friday!

    Brilliant news :)

Wonder why the EA was angry? Angry with you or angry with the sellers?

What stage are you with the mortgage? Have you already been to a Mortgage Advisor/Lender and got any type of pre-approval? How much deposit do you have?

Very good luck - hope this works out for you. :)

    Thanks :)

No idea why the EA was angry - OH said he seemed angry with us, apparently the vendor's husband is mad too... Tough cookies if you ask me!

We've been pre-approved, off for our full application now. I did credit check us both last week, I have a perfect score (not sure how I managed that) and OH is only just off, because he's never had much credit.
We've got 10%, and plenty for fees, moving and the start of the work, and we're only getting about 2.2x combined salary but I'm still scared about being turned down...it's one thing after another till we move in isn't it!

All sounds good! Since you are only going for 2.2x combined salary you should be ok...

    Good luck :)

bloody hell the ea was angry i would have thought it would be happy that he got a sale under his belt. how strange!

i know the boat you were in, i havent been so succesful today, offered405 on a house that was up for 450k in 2007, rejected, offered 410k, rejected, final offer 417k. still rejected, been told that they want 420k so where going to have to wait. I hope they come back to us but i'm not so sure they will. The Ea has said give him a bit of time to work on them.

good luck, hope it all goes smoothly for you.
