Scottish Power Pre-Paid - want Credit Meter
Comments

Do you have a good credit record and score? In other words, is there anything that would make you high risk for SP? How long have you had your prepay meters?0

I think SP charge £125 per meter "deposit" for changing prepayment meters, not sure when you would get that back though (if at all)Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!

You do get the deposit back after 1 year, however you may not need to pay it. If you have been their customer for over 1 year then they will do it for free. The meter exchange appointments are usually booked for 15 working days time. It's not a difficult or time consuming process at all.0

Magentasue, Scot Power don't do credit checks for prepay to credit meters exchanges - as long as you have been with them for over a year with no debts outstanding then there will be no probs.0

OK, but OP didn't say how long they'd had account with SP.0 -
Will they change the meter even if I had debt with them before?
Long story but I ended up owing them £800 which is now cleared via the prepay meter.

Most companies will ask you to have been debt free for a year.Bobsworlduk wrote: »Will they change the meter even if I had debt with them before?
