  • Glad some people have got some good deals.

We have now managed to bag a free flight back to KL from Perth - 7th January for £132.30 (£66.15 each) all including baggage, meals prebooked seats and Skybus.

Dearer than the free flight KL to Brisbane I first posted, but hey, still a billy bargain.

Oh, and flight back to London, not free, but only cost £256.44 all in (£128.22 each)

So that's our Oz trip booked. Got 2 weeks in Malaysia and then 2 and half months in Australia.!!!!

  • Bagged my return flights From Stansted to Melbourne via Malaysia in Dec 2009 return Jan 2010. Including 2 x stopovers in 5 stars, Malaysia. Family of 3 all taxes complete package. 1287.00 uk pounds. Absolutely chuffed. I had the same problem at 1600hrs uk time but phoned Airasia help desk and the fantastic guy told me to book the flights without seat allocation and pay. then receive your confirmation email and go back in the system to add seats. This was due to the system thinking the same as earlier posts and getting the timings wrong....Did as he said and bagged the bargain of the century......Went to the seat guru to check out the best seats and was fisrst onboard to choose all the best seats for 4 x flights. I first heard about Airasia through MSE and I will be forever eternaly gratefull....1287.00 pounds = 429.00 pounds each including 2 nights full board hotel FOR A RETURN TO MELBOURNE AT CHRISTMAS!!!!......yahoooooooo

I've searched all over Seat Guru and couldn't find any seat maps for Air Asia. Any chance you have a direct link?
    Thanks.
  • This is for Virgin Atlantic, but configuration for economy is basicaly the same. Mayby the toilets are configured slightly different. Remember Virgin are part owners of Airasia x and although not disclosed where Airasia leased there Airbus 340/300s from it a good guess it was from Virgin Hope this helps..

    thanks for this!

I read this yesterday and looked at the available free flights. Flights to Kuala Lumper from Stansted now range from £300 to over £800 return during December.

It took a bit of fiddling to get the cheaper flights to Kuala Lumper to match with the free Bali flights, but I made it work eventually!

thanks to this post, last night we booked a 2 week holiday to Bali over christmas and new year for roughly £1300 for 2 people. :T

The cost breakdown is as follows:

flights from stansted to kuala lumper - £600 return for 2 people inc taxes
2 hotel stopovers in Kuala lumper - £140 for 2 people
flights to Bali from Kuala Lumper - £65 in taxes return for 2 people
ten nights hotel and breakfast in Bali - £400 for 2 people
pre-booked day trips to monkey temple and volcano - £100 for 2 people

that's 13 nights for about £1300 - works out as £50 each per day including flights and hotel.
The cheapest london - Bali flights + accommodation package from expedia on the same dates for the same hotel is currently showing as £2799!
That's amazing! Can I asked which dates you used for the £600 return to KL from Stansted? Thanks
