National/Alamo Car Hire Geneva

The broker Auto Europe reserved a car for me at Geneva Airport through National/Alamo. On completion of my trip and return to the UK I received an invoice for a Service (?) Charge, Winterisation kit (even though snow chains and winter tyres are mandatory in Switzerland during the winter) and the cost of the shuttle from the arrivals desk to the hire car location.
The cost amounted to over 25% of the original hirecharge with Auto Europe. Auto Europe are looking into it and until they sort this out I strongly suggest that you double check that what you pay them is all you will pay. Alternatively steer clear of National/Alamo at Geneva Airport.

It seems that Alamo have introduced a shuttle bus charge, people are only just starting to notice it on their invoices. I think unless people vote with their feet and avoid Alamo, or the brokers get hassled a lot by disgruntled customers then it is here to stay.
Some people have said that Holiday Autos and Easyjet weren't aware of it and are looking into it or in the case of HA have refunded it.
However, I have just booked a car through Holiday Autos and it mentions it on the voucher, it doesn't state whether it is per person, or each way, and I am hoping it is not compulsory as we have no intention of using it on the way back as we will be dropping the car off at 5am, long before the shuttle bus starts running; but I do reckon that because it is on the voucher I will have to pay it, because when I emailed HA to query it they confirmed it was a charge that Alamo will make.

On our recent trip to Geneva we booked our car hire from Opodo who told us the broker would be Auto Europe. The car we received was from National Alamo and our our return we too had an invoice for £43.03 which was approximately 25% extra than what we had been quoted from Opodo. Tried to contact Opodo twice but not had a response yet. Don't think we'll be using them again.
