  • Hi,
Can you help me with all of this, I have a next account and it comes up with (purchases, charges and adjustments) is any of this what you're talking about.
  • Apparently I also have PPI on my Next directory account. I have had it since 1989! I have wrote trying to get this reclaimed as I had no idea I was paying for it, and that comes to quite a hefty sum. They have rejected my claim stating that prior to 1993 they operated an 'opt-out' scheme, basically they charge you unless you tell them otherwise. They are not regulated by the FSA for insurance.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi there

You have the paperwork for this then?

Do you know if your actually paying out for insurance on this hun?

Hopefully someone who has an account with these can confirm this with you in regards to your purchases, charges and adjustments, or you could write to them and ask them to send you the meanings of these.

I take it the purchases are showing dates of item bought.
Charges made on the item, adjustments I have not got a clue, I'm sure someone will confirm this to you, but if you have insurance you did not know about have a read of the above posts in order to try to complain and reclaim, good luck and post if you need any help with this.;)

Hi hun, this is sooooo annoying when it comes to dates etc !!!

I am not sure which is the best direction to take this but you could try to contact the FOS and see if they have any ideas on this for you, maybe there is a way round this but the FOS are unable to investigate complaints outside certain years where the companies were not regulated/covered etc.

But there is no harm in ringing them just to ask if there is another direction you can take with this, good luck.;)

  • Hi
I think I am going to request SAR from them, that seems to be the way many people go and request they supply me with the details of this insurance. I also thought I might do a bit of digging - now I have the bit between my teeth, and try to find out about the insurer they use, surely they will have to be regulated..

    Hi hun

Yes a good idea that, although they may only send data going back as far as 6 years, but I was lucky enough with one of my SAR's to receive info going back even earlier, it may still be worth it though where you should hopefully find some useful information to help your case.

I expect you have already noticed the SAR on the thread with details, but just give a yell if you require any help thoughout this, good luck.;)

  • Hi Crispess have a look on your Next statement, first line previous balance, second line payment protection - date, third line service charge, then lists ordered goods, returns since last statement.

    Hope this helps.

    For me

    First line- previous balance
    Second line- service charge
    Third line payment.

No mention of PPI, so does that mean i haven't got it? I did have a store card which seems to be when everyone got the PPI.
