After a bad accident I shall soon be expecting compensation maybe next month, i have IS and DLA, at the moment, so when I get my compensation, will this count as earnings? are IS and DLA means tested? I just don't know. I think I might get about 5 thousand pound., maybe less, compared with other similar accidents. What would I have to do?

If the benefits are paid to cover injuries resulting from the accident that the compensation is for then money can be recovered at source from your compensation to cover the benefits that have been paid out.
Heres a DWP page on compensation recovery
http://www.dwp.gov.uk/cru/I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
