Reaching the end of a free evening and free weekend call contract with TalkTalk, no monthly fee, two lines. I haven't a clue what the contract is called.
I was initially offered a new 12 month contract, no monthly charge for evening or weekend calls but I would have to transfer the line rental to TalkTalk. I thanked the rep but refused. I mentioned JustDial and Primus, the rep offered 6 months at no monthly charge with free weekend and evening calls, remaining on CPS. I accepted.
E-mail sent to the rep to confirm the call and requesting a reply, no reply received yet

Set yourself a time/date by which that reply has to be received and, if it hasn't been, don't mess about giving them another chance, make a freephone call and change your CPS to Primus Saver Option 2.Micky wrote:Reaching the end of a free evening and free weekend call contract with TalkTalk, no monthly fee, two lines. Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
As far as I no TT dont extend the free calls on Talk 1 .Yes they rep will say you can have them , but there PC system wont allow it .( thats what they told me ) I said ok give me the free calls on Talk 2 ,and I got them . I also got it in writing via email thet I was getting free calls on talk 1 .Turned out it wasnt worth anything ,I even had the reps name .But I did get the free calls & £10 credit on Talk 2 after a haggle .Micky wrote:Reaching the end of a free evening and free weekend call contract with TalkTalk, no monthly fee, two lines. Yes, the contractual situation does seem to be a bit of a mess. Technically, I have three contracts with TT:
Contract 1: Family 'phone in my house. I don't pay anything to TT for this CPS service and I receive free evening and weekend calls.
Contract 2: Business 'phone in my house, although I'm now semi-retired it's useful to keep clients etc at arm's length, plus it's a useful second 'phone. I pay TT £5 per month for CPS, TT refund me £5 month as a goodwill gesture. I receive free evening and weekend calls.
Contract 3: Phone used by a close family member 250 miles away. TT charge £5 per month CPS, free weekend calls but chargeable evening calls. TT have credited £10 to the account for goodwill, so that's slowly being used up.
The above explains why I've given up trying to put labels on the contracts, as long as it's free - or cheap, cheap is OK as well ;-)0 -
i emailed TT as my year was coming to an end with broadband and free evennig and weekend calls
i told them tiscali offer a package for 19.99 for 2mb broadband and ALL calls inclusive can they match it.. they said no theirs would be 27.98,.. i wonder if i called and spoke to rep they would be more amenable to matching.. i also have line rental with them so potentially they could lose it all
hmmm think i talked myself into a fone call there lolWhen you know better you do better0
