Take it from someone who remembers his 18th birthday like it was yesterday (now 25), and I'm still regretting applying for a credit card on that day. Credit might seem cool and a way to access cash quickly, but for the love of god, unless you need to, save for what you want, don't get it on credit.
It's your decision, but you're surrounded by people who have "been there, done that" who would rather you did not have to go through it and learn the hard way that credit is a pain in the !!!!.
