Memory Foam Matteres for 2yr old - safe?

Hi, We have bought our 2yr old DD a new bed and DH bought a memory foam matteres. I m not sure about the matteres as I don't know if they are for young children.
He asked the slaes man who said the are great for kids but not so sure!
DH has looked on the packaging and it doesn't say anything about not being suitable for young children?
Can anyone help with this question?
I think I might just go and change it for a "normal" one other wise, Thanks.

Check out member Tim Deegan's posts as he will have some useful advice no doubt
I wouldn't have thiought memory foam would be ideal for your children as memory foam can be quite warm and 2 year olds aren;t old enough to fully regulate their own body temperature I believe.
We have just bought a basic open coil spring mattress which should be fine for young children as they won;t be heavy enough to benefit from pocket springs for some time0 -
Hi we have a memory mattress and i love it however dd didn't when she tried ours as she gets too hot as kids do! we got her a few weeks ago a foam type one which came rolled up and expened like memory ones do which she loves as no springs which we hate! was £100 with 5 yr guaruntee!0

As long as it is a British made mattress then it should be safe as far as flame retardants go.
A 2 year old wouldn't be heavy enough to benefit from the memory foam.
If it is the reflex foam/memory foam type then it can be much warmer.
Personally I'd just go for an open coil sprung mattress.0
