We booked flights online and now have relised that one of our party has an extra letter in thier name eg. leee instead of lee. DO you think this will be a problem?

Yes.
Most airlines allow you to correct obvious errors within 24 hours of making the booking. Contact them, and be sure you ask for an error correction, not a "name change". (A name change applies when someone else is flying, and then there is a more substantial fee.)0 -
I would do as Voyager says. Although once I flew to Ireland with the wrong passport number on my e-ticket and no one noticed!0

HI
We are flying with Ryanair, and have already used the online check in on thier website. So i phoned them this morning and apparently once check in no changes can be made at all. They advised me to go to the airport and hope for the best. They said this may result in a charge or may have to make a new reservation. I think this is a bit harsh for the sake of one letter. Do you think i should just risk it and hope nobody notices becuase it does blend quite well lol. I am very unsure of what to do. Oh and did i mention we fly tomorrow?
Thanks for the replies

I'd blag it personally, given that you will only be handing your passport to the airport operator's jumped up version of a tescos security guard i cant imagine it being an issue, hell they've missed bottles of water etc in my colleagues bags before now so its highly unlikely they will notice a missing "e"Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

I would think that they would not notice it... but then it seems that airlines can be totally unpredictable. Try ringing Ryanair again and see if a different call centre operative gives you a different answer. I've worked in numerous call centres and our information always varied! If you're flying tomorrow though there's probably not much they can do.
I'm sure they won't notice an extra 'e'!HI

I think they would notice: whenever I've flown they've always checked the names/numbers against the document fairly thoroughly. Personally I'd recommend going to the ticket desk and saying you've made a silly mistake, being extremely polite and friendly (you're asking them for a favour, after all), and asking if they could change print you a new one. I think it depends most on the airport you're in - the smaller ones (i.e. anything except Stansted/Dublin) tend to have friendlier, more helpful staff than the bigger ones.0 -
Is it better to check in online or early at the airport to stand a better chance of an upgrade or leg room seats.

You will get as many different answers as people you ask about how to secure an upgrade. There's a whole thread about it on MSE, not to mention numerous other websites. Some say check in mega-early and ask; others say check in as late as possible and hope they've run out of seats. In truth, if you're not a frequent flyer and haven't paid a lot for your tickets they're likely to choose other people before they choose you. I personally would check in online as early as possible - that way at least you know you definitely get the best seats you can get in the class you've paid for.0 -
The best way to secure an upgrade is to pay for it, i would be steaming if i paid full whack for premium economy or buis class and found out the person siting beside me got the same seat for economy price because they asked nicely.Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

Are they more likely to pick you instead of other passengers?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
