Tracking walls.

I need to install 3 additional sockets with spured switches for a new kitchen i am intending to have fitted.
What is the best way to track out the walls without resorting to useing an angle grinder with all the dust and mess it would create.
Can something be hired that would do the job but without causing to much dust etc?

Are you aware that this is not a DIY work now? At least you have to report it and have it checked: http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/new%20rules.htm

You can hire a wall chaser from any good hire shop. Two types: one with wheels and one that is a big chisel on an SDS drill.

As grumbler points out the actual wiring must be done by a qualified tradesman or inspected and signed off by one.

I've tried everything from ankle grinders (no it's not a spelling mistake,) wall chaser adapters with wheels that fit an electric drill, club hammer and bolster, chaser bits for SDS drills, etc etc.

Easiest but horrific mess, ankle grinder.
Toughest but least mess, chain drill with a cordless impact drill (or slow speed mains), and masonry bit, plus second body with vacuum cleaner as you drill.
