Yes that is there for me too. However when I go into the move money bit - they have no entry to let me move money into the account (*) but do seem to have an entry to let me move money out.

Is this just me, or are others in the same boat?

(*) not that I'm likely to do this other than for testing, but I've got some money in their fixed interest account which is why I'm keeping it open.

For the record ING are paying 4% on the money transfers from Kaupthing edge this includes a bonus of 2.02% for 6months. Whilst there is risk although minimal I am going for it. It is 2% more than anywhere else with immediate access
  • Can anyone tell me if the Option One bonus rate for 6 months only covers money already in the KE fund at time of transfer, or if more can be added subsequently and will also get the higher rate?

Excuse the question, but the ING bonus banner/button is throwing up a "Can't complete your request at this time" message, and ING aren't answering the phone. The letter is ambiguous: ".... on all the savings in your ING Direct Savings Account" - is that ALL savings in the account at time of transfer, or ALL savings in the account?

    Thanks.
  • I have kept £1 in my Kaupthing-now-Ing account. Do I need to keep it open for when my Kaupthing fixed term deposit matures? Can't remember what happens. Does it get transferred to easy access Ing or to a linked bank account?

The fixed term will be transferred into the easy access acount. If I remember correctly you can have a zero balance in the easy access account if you hold a fixed term deposit.

After accepting the 6 month offer this evening, part of the confirmation message was "Why not transfer more funds into your new ING Direct Savings Account to take full advantage of the new rate? All you need to do is select where you want to move funds from and transfer them to your new ING Direct Savings Account."

Under move money there was no option to add funds expect using the sortcode and account number from an external source i.e. from Lloyds TSB internet banking etc, or cheque - but who uses those anymore :rotfl:

I guess we have to set up the linked bank account again?
This will set up a DD.

My linked account is still showing as Nationwide.
    From the ING T+Cs

"You must give us a Direct Debit instruction for each linked account you hold with us. You must not
cancel the Direct Debit instruction while you have the relevant linked account. Your Direct Debit
instruction will end if you do not use the Direct Debit facility for 13 months. You will then need to
set up a new Direct Debit instruction. Apart from your first deposit, you cannot normally ask us to
transfer funds between your savings account and a linked account unless we have a valid Direct
Debit instruction for that linked account."
