international phone cards with no hidden fees

well maybe you know whats its like or do you? you buy a phone card (international) which tells you you have so much minutes to call a country and then find hidden fees such as

daily maintneace charge
connection charge
weekly charge and so the list goes on!!! arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

and before you know it your 160 minues is actually 50 minutes - how frustrating! and wot lies they tell....

so basically do you know a phone card which allows you to call different countries (well im actually looking for lebanon) but has no hidden fees - eg the minutes they say you get is what you actually get with no hidden suprises. come on guys recommend a card to me!?

Charging on calling cards has plenty of the practice you mention, but not all. But is it worth the research?

You could take a look at the MSE Callchecker. Calling from a BT landline, you can use callthrough on 0844 and 0871 numbers, but via ordinary landline access numbers Localphone is one of the cheapest for Lebanon.

Not all providers are listed in the Callchecker of course. You could get 4 and 8 cents plus 19% VAT to landlines and mobiles using the Betamax brand Calleasy, but their rates tend to go up a bit a few months after launch, and others are 6 or so to landlines. I'd go with either Localphone or an 0844 number (but the latter only if calling from landline)
