Has anyone experienced difficulty claiming sickness cover on their PPI due to the fact that they were paid sick pay by their employer. I have read a few posts where this has happened, I am waiting for a copy of the terms of policy from my PPI to check mine as this may have made mine invalid. Bothers me that I am paying £50 mth and interest at 6% for the privilege of being out of work, unable to claim and another 40 payments to make...I must have been mad taking this PPI out

oh thanks for speedy rsponse, i am going potty over this. I took it out in Dec o4, I was sick for 7 mth prior to settling for a compromise package from my ex employer. I tried to claim for this last yr of being unemployed and was told i didnt qualify but "may" be able to claim for this if i can get confirmation from my doctor that my termination and compromise payment from ex emploer was health related and then they would "look" at this and any proof from Dr of long period of sickness. All this will cost me money at the Dr's for letters. I didnt even know I had the damn thing and now out of work still paying for it and unable to claim, I could cry and feel suicidal over this, I feel like i have been conned, why oh why would I want this if I had sickness cover from work anyway and no I cannot recall if they asked me if I was in a sickness scheme in work and if they did surely they should have pointed out that the PPI was of little benifit to me. Any thoughts welcomed0

Mike you may still be able to claim on this policy. Usually insurance companies pay for reports from doctors. Do not cancel this until you are sure that you cannot claim on it..
So sorry you are feeling this way. You can always post on here and I am sure somebody will try to help you in some way. You would probably have a claim here as well but you need to do what is right for you.:mad:0 -
if I was successful (which i doubt ) with my claim any payout ie backdated would be nulified as I still have around 40 payments to make at £50 per time surely it would be benificial to claim misselling then the payments made would be returned (hopefully~) in full and the policy cancelled, going giddy which way to turn0

Hi Mike
You can reclaim this but could take up to a year if it goes to the FOS. Are you able to wait that amount of time. You may be able to get it fast tracked if you have serious financial difficulties?:mad:0
