Looking to pick all your brains!!
In brief - hubby injured at work 5 yrs ago, had operation on spine over year ago. He was awarded originally industrial injuries(£22+). This was stopped due to operation success??!! He has other back problems now(which we think stem from original injury - waiting to see specialist!) and really is unable to work. Constant pain. He gets pension from work now as they medically retired him. I work 26 hrs and we don't get any help re mortgage child care etc. As you can imagine things are tight, but not sure how to find out if we are entitled to anything. Hubby proud man re claiming benefits etc!

Has he looked at something like Disability living Allowance

You should be able to claim Tax Credits, if he does get DLA, you would get extra Tax CreditsI no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
