Avoid listening to halfords for car seat advice. Well known for selling seats when they dont fit the car.0

I bought the axiss from toys r us - the lady carried it out to the car (in drizzling rain )and fitted it to see if it was appropriate. The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

If your a member of Which they have product testing on car seats online which is well worth a read (I think you can still get a free trial membership on the website). After a lot of research I went for the Britax Evolva 1-2-3 Ultra which will last right up until they dont need a car seat anymore. Got it from costco for around £80, think the RRP price was around £140.
Boots have it on offer at the minute as well:

Just a warning though that the Which reports have to be read with a very open mind. They only test car seats in one type of car (an Astra I think). As we all know not every car seat is suited to every car but Which don't take this into account. Which also rated the MC Tobi very highly despite some very poor features. The problem is Which don't test them in real life situations. They aren't putting a toddler in/out of the car half a dozen times a day. Some of the points they make are valid but sometimes they aren't.0

How old is the Zafira? Because I remeber looking in 2004 and they had isofix anchors. And I know they still do.
I have maxi cosi priorifix, i like the priori because it has a good recline for my child who is still quite little at age 3 and sleeps in the car all the time.0 -
I have a Zafira. We have Britax Evolva 123 in ours.0

IMO The Tobi has features which can make it unsafe such as an indicator that shows green (safe) when the harness is still far too loose. I also have a Bebe Confort Axiss which is actually far superior to the MC Priori and Tobi though but that info is no good if it doesn't fit the OPs car.
Well owning a tobi and using it for the last year I personally would say it is a fault with your seat which can be serviced with Maxi cosi. We have had no problems and I regularly take off all of the coveres and refit them to wash them all. Which tests their seats in several makes and models of cars, the guide is there as exactly that ... a guide. It is still the best guide on the market for things like this IMO.Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
IF they have changed thier testing procedures then this is recent. I have not heard any information that they have changed their flawed procedures. I know of other people that have had the same problems of me with the seat and MC confirmed the seats were working as expected.RustyFlange wrote: »Well owning a tobi and using it for the last year I personally would say it is a fault with your seat which can be serviced with Maxi cosi. ETA: Just checked they re still using their Astras http://www.which.co.uk/reviews/child-car-seats/page/how-we-test-child-car-seats/0 -

Hi,
If you are looking for the safest car seat then please take a look at this website -
http://www.rearfacing.co.uk/
Its about the increased safety that is offered by keeping your child rear facing for a longer period of time. There are also Which? reports that show facts and details. These car seats are required by law in Sweden until a child is 4.
Between July 2006 and November 2007 not a single child under the age of 6 years old was killed in a car crash in Sweden (Source: VTI Sweden). According to the AA’s website, 205 children are injured in car crashes in the UK every year and 21 are killed.0
