Hi,
My 12 month old baby needs a new car seat, but I am finding it quite a mindfield!
I don't have isofix in my car, so that is not an option.
I am looking for one of the best safety rated ones.......and pink if possible too

Hi
The best advice is to contact your local council and ask if thy have a car seat safety fitting/checking service. A lot of councils do and it's free. They will check which seats fit in your car and from there you can look on the internet to find the best deal. It doesn't matter what safety features the car seat has if it doesn't fit your car properly. The safest seat is a well fitting one.

Hi Zippy,
We have a Maxi Cosi Tobi, they are not as cheap as others but are my first port of call as when we looked for our little one it was the safest on the market ... it also comes in pink

I have an almost unused Maxi Cosi Tobi in my garage it is rubbish I hate it with a vengence. I much prefer my MC Priori. IMO The Tobi has features which can make it unsafe such as an indicator that shows green (safe) when the harness is still far too loose. I also have a Bebe Confort Axiss which is actually far superior to the MC Priori and Tobi though but that info is no good if it doesn't fit the OPs car.0

Another one with the Bebe Confort Axiss - it faces the car door, you put child in and fasten harness, and then swivel is 90 degrees to face forward...:DThe IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

I would recommend Mothercare as a starting point - you don't have to buy anything from there!
But a car seat is only as safe as its fitting. If it doesn't fit properly then no level of rating will make it so. At mothercare they will help you to fit the seats into the cars so you can check they are AOK before purchase.0 -
Thanks for all your replies. I have a Vauxhall Zafira by the way.
