My problem......
I dont have an overdraft, i never even knew i could go overdrawn on the account i had, as whenever i go onto my internet banking it says i dont have an overdraft and i could apply for one, so hense my dismay when i found out i had gone £18.09 overdrawn. i looked at my statement and saw that the first instance it was from play.com, though surely if i hadnt had enough money in my account it wouldnt of let the transaction carry on. obviously at that point i assumed i still had money in my account and went to my local petrol station and spent £15 on petrol, again my card got accepted and i was none the wiser....
on saturday i received a letter from my tsb branch telling me i was overdrawn!! i have to pay a 'unplanned overdraft fee' of £15 and 3 daily fees of £6 each! now this seems unfair to me as it took 2 days for me to receive the letter! on saturday i rang them instantly and transferred money to put my account in credit. though now i'm stuck with £33 of charges.
i'm a little bit unsure as to whether i can actually reclaim this back. am i able to? they havent taken it off me yet, and they said that they would do at the end of the month, would i be able to get these charges cancelled??
help would be greatfully apreciated
thanks.
... needless to say im going into my local tsb branch regardless and closing both of my accounts
