BTU radiator help

I am in need of a bigger radiator in my bedroom. I have done a few BTU online calculations but they differ in result. My bedroom is 3.5m x 3.5m (height standard 8ft). I have two outer walls, although one is behind a fitted wardrobe. The window is quite large I guess. Laminate flooring also. Not sure which way the room faces (but the sun enters my room in the morning as opposed to evening).

Anyone know if I'd need a double or single radiator. (Id prefer a single for space saving). Any suggestions as to what minimum BTU might be. Because obvioulsy Id like to be over than under.

Many Thanks

Not sure about the walls. Solid walls made of brick. It is a 1930s two bed house. Attic is above the room which has some solid stuff (wood I think) as insulation on its floor. The room below is the living room. Roof is sloping slate.
  • Just the window size then...
    And single or double glazed...

And you say the roof has wood for insulation? Is this like sawdust?
    And there is no fibreglass???
Is it just a roofspace or a living area?

    So many questions :rotfl:

200 by 115 cm is an approximate size of window. Double glazed but has a condensation build up withing the panes (not sure if that makes a difference)

The attic has some kind of solid flooring which I was told was insulation. It is solid, looks like wood. Might that be fibre glass. There is no wool in the loft which I have seen for sale in BandQ. I hope my loft is insulated!!!! The 'wood' thing is about a centimeter thick I think. Haven't checked recently.

The roof space is just that. Not a living area. Just has a few items up there for storage.

    Many Thanks
  • I would be looking at a minumum of 6200btu/1817watts
