greenbee - send me a cake over here, might make me feel better! ;) I think I saw someone make red velvet cake on tv a while ago.

I must be ill - have just sat and snoozes/watched tv all evening, have only just turned the laptop back on, very unlike me! DH made me a cup of tea a while ago, watched Definitely, Maybe earlier - nice chick flick and then escape to the country! Have to decide whether to go to work tomorrow or take another day off sick, guess i'll see how i feel in the morning, don't want to be off just for the sake of it....saying that i only had 2 days sick in the whole of last year so they know i'm not the kind to take the p*ss

Good to see everyone is getting lots done, stars seem to be very motivating! Pigpen has college on a wed (i think).

I can fill you in on messy church, but i'll let Miss A as I am sure she will enjoy it!

Quick question for any dog owners or those with knowledge - this week stripes has suddenly decided that sticks are fab to chew up. If I go near her she runs off and thinks it's a fab game! She's obviously eating some of the shredded stick as she has woodchip poop! Isn't this dangerous? What can I do? She comes back to me at all times unless she has found a stick! HELP!!

  • I'm still here and still cleaning the cooker and the kitchen! Only two more sessions I reckon and the bloody horrible glass door front will be clean! I am then officially NOT using the bleeding oven again before moving day on 13th March :rotfl: Maybe this is the excuse I've been looking for to buy a Remoska - I wonder if I might find enough money down the back of the sofa when I finally get to the living room! :rotfl:

On the steam cleaner front I have one of these http://www.domotec.uk.com/steam_cleaners/simac_vaporsimac/10054_p.html I ordered a cheaper model (£111) which isn't now on their website but it was out of stock and they sent me the more expensive one at the same price - what a result!!

I did loads of research and found really mixed reviews about the cheaper models, their steam output was lower and lots of them have a very small water holder so you have to fill up all of the time. A lot of the designs (like the Karcher) are pressurised so that you can't fill the tank whilst the machine is hot - you have to wait for it to cool down, fill it up and then wait for it to reheat.

I knew I had a huuuuuggggeeee amount of cleaning to do in a short time and came to the conclusion that I didn't have time to waste getting it wrong and ending up with something that wasn't up to the job. So I went for something that was a bit more expensive.

Mine is fab and it's cleaned the really nasty cooker, it's especially good at getting into all those little nooks and crannies that you can't get to, like the stupid bits of trim around the edge of cookers, fridges, WM etc. Our kitchen is really greasy (years of neglect :o )and I was really struggling to get through the grease but the steam cleaner cuts right through it.

Someone earlier mentioned steam cleaning clothes - do you have an iron attachment or do you just use one of the other nozzles? My wool mix coat is smelling a bit doggie and I wonder whether a steam would help but I don't have the iron attachment?
