No. It's labelled as Matt, which is what we wanted.

OK - I agree, it ought to have no sheen at all. However, I find that too many so-called matt emulsion paints do in fact have a sheen. I rather suspect that it's down to poor quality or a price/quality compromise.

The only "dead flat" emulsion I would trust is Farrow & Ball Estate Emulsion - or a limewash, which is OTT for modern properties.

F&B paint has its supporters and critics - supporters use it for its quality of finish and "true" colour. Personally, I think you get what you pay for and if you've used Crown or Dulux, then the price, compared with F&B is probably reflected in a compromise on the quality and finish. Sorry :o

We once found that Focus own brand paints were terrible from pot to pot on colour continuity. In one house we could only use a pot if we knew it would cover the entire wall otherwise we had to crack open another one as the differential could be forgiven for the way the light was falling on different walls, iyswim.

The tester pots should be the same colour as the big tin. I'd take a photo of tester vs. big tin on the wall and take the paint back to the shop.

If you want a really fashionable flat matt you will have to buy something labelled as that because regular matt emulsion does have a little bit of sheen to it.
