BMW Oil Service
Phoned up a few BMW garages to get the Oil Service done on my 318ti compact .... priced ranged from 120 - 160 quid. Yes, that 160 quid to change the oil, the filter and a 'safety check' (that means a quick look around the car to see how nice it looks).
I dont even know if its worth maintaining the full BMW history anymore with prices like that ... I could quite easily do it myslef for the cost of the oil & filter (about £30) and the 'safety check' is the MOT it passed last month!
Sorry - just felt like a moan about rip-off servicing costs!

Hi nice to see someone complaining about garage charges.My friend has a daewoo lanos and was quoted £800 + for fitting new camshaft by main dealer.As I was mechanic years ago i managed to source a new camshaft kit and had local garage fit that and also cambelt and general service at all in cost of £280.I could have fitted it myself but dont like getting hands dirty anymore unless its on my own car :rotfl:

ps main dealer wanted over £400 for camshaft kit alone and at piston and components it was £1200
