Is Kitchen Depost refundable?

Hi,

Appologies if this is not the correct forum.

I have a friend who has just signed up for a kitchen from Moben, however after reading some bad reviews she wants to cancel. The problem is she has paid a deposit by debit card, she is still in the cooling off period, is the deposit refundable? .

Thanks

Rob

    Surely your friend has some paperwork/contract. Can she not check on there? You mention she is still "in the cooling off period" so if she knows this there must be other information?
  • She has the documentation, it does not explicitly state whether the deposit is refundable or not, just that she can cancel within 7 days.

    I she protected by law if the contract does not stipulate, she is going to cancel tomorrow, but hse has read a review where the reviewer did not get the deposit refunded.

    Is she going into a showroom or is this online? She should ask about the refund. If this was me and it said it was possible to cancel then I would assume that meant the deposit was refunded, otherwise I would expect it to say "non-returnable deposit in the event of change of mind" or something similar. If she has any problems then she could contact CAB or one of the consumer associations.
  • :mad: :mad: Project Management and Moben are not on the same planet never mind understanding the concept of planning for tradesmen and time lines !!!

    My kitchen is finally finished now and looking good but only down to the fitter !!! Finished 6 days after was told it would be finished (Sorry 4 days as weekends don't count in their book !!! - Time must have stood still for us with no cooking facilities to miss these 2 days !!) with the Gas man finally turning up on 3rd attempt. Mind you we are on a new estate and those toms toms are so confusing !!

    Anyhow bottom line avoid them like the Plague as you do not get your money's worth in regard to having the kitchen done in the time they state and the amount of time spent on phones repeating yourself and dealing with people who can only blame others for their shortcomings !!!!!!

    Moben = NO THANKS:mad:
