You got a CD??!!
We were told in no uncertain terms that the images were the property of Venture and that we could not have the disc for ourselves!
Would love to know how/if you managed to get a CD

Yeah I also didn't think venture would sell the CD although most other places will. Seems strange when you pay soooo much more for venture shots!

We had our done at Doubletake a few years back. About six months after the session, they contacted us asking if we wanted to buy the CD. We said hell yeah, and have been able to print off copies, etc willy-nilly. So I would think you should have no problem if they gave you the CD.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000

Venture offered me a cd about 6 mths after our session, they have said that we can upload the pics and load them onto digital photo frames, but i am hoping to print them off. It is quite nice, as we got the session free and haven't got round to picking up our free picture yet. At least the charge of £50 is not too bad!
Good luck and lets hope we can all print our pictures.Leopardlady

Our letter offering us our CD said nothing about not being able to print them off - & as such the CD is n ow our property to do with as we wish!!!! We have recently had some more done & we are hoping we get another CD at some point down the line!
Just seen your location, we are Swindon too so I guess we probably had them done at the same place which we have both been offered the CD.

That makes sense I guess. If they let you buy the cd at the time, you might not buy any photo's. But once you have bought all the photo's they are going to sell, the pictures are worth nothing to them, so they might as well sell them to you. I'll tell my friend as she has a free voucher but wasn't going to use it as she thought she would go mad!!

Not so. Under copyright law, the rightsholder is the photographer (or their employer if their contract so states) and remains with them until such time as they officially grant them elsewhere.
Just because you have copies on CD doesn;t mean you have the right to reproduce them, except in the way they have told you that you can.
Although of course, no-one would know you'd printed them

I dont want to pee on your battreries but you may wsih to check Vultures T & C's. Normally all copyright stays with the photography and unless you have it in writing that they have passed it to you, they could sue for brach of copyright. Be carefull.0 -
Venture is franchised so the option of buying of the CD depends on the owner of that franchise. not all Venture studios will allow the CD to be bought, but if you do strike up a good rappor with the photograhor sometimes they will slip a copy of the cd in for you but it does depend on the photographer themselves.Debt free 3 years early :j

Hi
It sold as a digital photo album and I think all ventures sell them as they are included in all of the literature that you get....
